There’s a new Sheriff in town…

As of Monday, we have a new sheriff in town. Former Sheriff Mike Whelan’s retirement is officially underway, and the Grays Harbor County Commissioners appointed as the acting Sheriff.

Scott said that he was “honored to follow in the footsteps of Sheriff Morrisette and Whelan, privileged to be given the opportunity to lead a great Law Enforcement agency”

As an elected official, the Grays Harbor Democrats will nominate up to 3 candidates for the position to replace Whelan. The commissioners will appoint a new Sheriff after looking over those nominations.

Whelan announced his retirement from the Sheriff’s Office in August after 35 years of service.

Acting Sheriff Rick Scott will join us this Friday for Live@9 on KXRO.
