PUD BOARD APPROVES BUDGET, RATE INCREASE TO FOLLOW?

The Grays Harbor PUD has approved its $118-million operations budget for 2011, a year that could include a 7% rate increase. While the increase has not officially been approved, the budget anticipates the hike, 4% of which would cover costs of voter approved conservation and renewable energy resources and anticipated BPA increases, while the remaining 3% would go to future capital improvement projects to pay down debt. The increase will be considered separately by the board in the coming months.
