…and if you live in the Harbor, you CAN smell that smell from Cosmo Specialty Fibers.

The issue has been brought up multiple times both on KXRO and within city council chambers and everyone is aware, including Cosmo itself.

Bob Buchan from Cosmo Specialty Fibers sent an email to Cosi Mayor regarding the complaints that the company has received recently.

He cites many reasons for the smell including pH balances and chemical overflow.

Buchan promises that the problem is being addressed on many different fronts, but also notes in his list of items being considered that some things cannot be avoided as after all – they ARE a pulp mill.

Buchan reminds the city that the staff who work at the mill “live here too” and they are not fond of the smell either.
