NWS ISSUES SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT FOR TONIGHT & TOMORROW

The National Weather Service says local sub-freezing temperatures and patchy freezing fog are expected tonight and Wednesday morning.

In addition patchy fog or freezing fog will reduce visibilities. Commuting conditions tomorrow morning (especially around sunrise) could be treacherous.

Grays Harbor Emergency Management reminds motorists to prepare for inclement weather driving by doing the following:

  • ┬áCheck or have a mechanic check your car’s cooling system, battery, lights and perform routine maintenance items like oil changes.
  • Maintain at least a half tank of gas during the winter season.
  • Place a winter emergency kit in each car.
  • Install good winter tires.┬áMake sure the tires have adequate tread. All-weather radials are usually adequate for most winter conditions.
