Following months of preparation for Saturday night’s program, and years of preparation within the Miss America Program, Lauren Kuhn is Miss Grays Harbor.
Kuhn is a former Miss Grays Harbor’s Outstanding Teen where she earned 1st Runner Up honors at Miss Washington’s Outstanding Teen. Since she has been able to compete in the Miss age bracket, Kuhn has been both Miss Tahoma and 4th Runner up to Miss Washington 2010 as well as Miss Seattle 2011 and ranked in the Top 8 at Miss Washington that year.
Along with the title and top prize, Kuhn awards and scholarships for Best Interview, Best Talent, Top Scholastic for her GPA at Gonzaga University, IGA’s “Together We Can” for an essay related to her platform, “Four Points of the Crown” for showcasing the basis of the Miss America Program, and tied with contestant Victoria Baumgardner for Miss Congeniality.
Kuhn will now move onto the Miss Washington program.
Meghan Anderson was 1st Runner-Up for the title, and Stephanie Hornback was the 2nd Runner-Up. Also recieving awards on Saturday, Hornback won the Staff award and Anderson won the SPIRIT scholarship. Jessica Matthews received the Personal Growth scholarship. Former Miss Grays Harbor’s Outstanding Teen Blythe Beebe received both the Empowered Young Woman and Living Your Platform scholarships.
Lauren’s younger sister Paige Kuhn, a former Miss Grays Harbor’s Outstanding Teen contestant will also be at Miss Washington holding the title of Miss Apple Valley.
The current Miss Grays Harbor’s Outstanding Teen Erin Kuhn, crowned on Friday, is no relation.
