Man arrested following burglary, collision, and DUI all in one morning

Around 1:30 am on Thursday, Grays Harbor Sheriff’s Deputies were called to the Chevron Station after an alarm went off at the business.

A witness said that a Volvo station wagon was seen in the parking lot when the alarm went off. Deputies discovered that the window of the door had been broken and several items were on the floor. Items missing appeared to be cigarettes, lottery tickets, and jerky.

The owner was able to give deputies access to his surveillance video and they saw a Hispanic or Native American male break the window, steal items, and then flee in the Volvo.

While deputies were processing the scene, Montesano PD responded to a burglary complaint at Mary’s River Lumber. A suspect was arrested at the mill for Criminal Trespass, and soon after officers received a call about a vehicle collision just south of Mary’s River Lumber on SR 107.

Once deputies arrived, they saw a white Volvo with items inside that appeared to be the same items stolen from the Chevron. The suspect that Montesano PD had arrested was the same man that was seen on the surveillance.

The 31 year old Native American man from Seaside, Oregon was transported to Grays Harbor Community Hospital as he was complaining of medical issues following the collision. WSP was also involved as they investigated the vehicle collision and processed this suspect for Driving Under the Influence.

The suspect, was treated and then transported to and booked for Burglary 2nd degree, Criminal Trespass, and DUI.
