Maintenance work could cause odor issues

There will a possibility for odor issues from maintenance work on the Industrial Sewer system at a Cosmo Specialty Fibers pond.

Cosmo Specialty Fibers tells KXRO that they will be doing maintenance on Pond D of their sewer treatment facility at 2100 Rd, Aberdeen.

This pond will be chemically treated before the work starts and then partially drained for up to 3 days between June 1st and June 5th.

There is a possibility of odors from this pond while it has the lower operating level.

Cosmo Specialty Fibers maintains continuous air monitors in the area and the data from these monitors will be reviewed daily.

The pond will be refilled as soon as the work requiring the lower operating level is complete.
