Local boater needed for advisory council

The Washington and Recreation Commission’s Recreational Boating Safety Program is inviting local hunters or anglers who use a boat in their sport to apply for an open position on the program’s Boating Safety Advisory Council.

The Boating Safety Advisory Council is a 15-member committee that provides recommendations to the program on ways to enhance boating safety statewide for all types of recreational boating. The term of the position is three years.

The Council meets four times a year at the Washington State Parks Headquarters Office in Tumwater. Meetings typically occur twice in the spring and twice in the fall.

Any interested parties are invited to request an application by calling Doni Thomas, Boating Program administrative assistant, at (360) 902-8832, or by e-mail to doni.thomas@parks.wa.gov.

In addition to the application, candidates are required to submit a letter of interest, a resume and three references. Application materials are due by Nov. 19. They may be submitted by e-mail or by regular mail, to:
