Hoquiam death not believed to be from natural causes

Hoquiam Police are investigating a suspicious death.

In a release, the Hoquiam Police Department says that they were called to a home in the 2900 block of Simpson Avenue on Sunday morning for a welfare check. The check came after a family member reported that a 53 year old man had missed a shift at work and they were unable to contact them.

When officers arrived, they say that they could see the man lying on the ground through the window, and when they entered found the man deceased.

They tell KXRO that evidence at the scene indicates the death was not from natural causes and crime scene investigators were called to process the scene.

“At this time there is no determination on the nature of the death and the investigation is ongoing.”

More information will be released as to the cause and nature of death following an autopsy and toxicology tests.
