HOLD ON TO YOUR HATS THIS AFTERNOON & TONIGHT!

The National Weather Service has issues a Special Weather Statement regarding windy conditions along the coast this afternoon and evening.

Southeast winds will pick up and by this afternoon gusts as high as 40 mph are possible with sustained winds in the 15 to 25 mph range.

The windy conditions will continue into the evening hours then taper off after midnight as the front moves through theĀ Coast.

NWS says winds of these speeds generally do not cause major problems but sinceĀ most trees are still holding their leaves…it is possible that some weakened trees could come down resulting in localized power outages.
