High wind warning for this evening

The National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning for tonight.

The Weather Service says the warning is in effect from 8:00pm this evening through 6:00am tomorrow morning with the peak wind speeds expected in the late evening and overnight hours.

South and Southeast winds are expected to reach 25 to 35 MPH with gusts around 45 to 50 MPH.

They say with since this is the first event of this magnitude of the season, impacts such as tree damage and scattered power outages should be prepared for.
