Grays Harbor Election Recap 2012 -UPDATE-

After the first count of election results for Grays Harbor, the 2012 election results show a community voting for “change”. 64% of the registered voters in Grays Harbor were counted as of Tuesday.

will replace Mike Wilson as Grays Harbor County Commissioner, leading Allan Shores 57%-42%.

Gordon may not be the only new Commissioner, as currently leads Terry Willis by 900 votes to replace the incumbent commissioner.

Arie Callaghan is in the lead to replace retiring Tom Casey on the Grays Harbor PUD Commission, with a lead of 56% over Chris Thomas with 43%.

The ’s voters showed overwhelming support of 71% for their levy concerning emergency medical care, approving an additional $87,500 added to their regular levy for the next 6 years.

Fire District #5 in East County suffered another loss on Tuesday adding to their results in August showing a lack of support for a property tax levy. Fire Chief Dan Prater at that time said the results could mean loss of jobs. The proposition on Tuesday’s ballot would have allowed the district to exceed the allowable levy increase. 54% voted no on this proposition.

Grays Harbor voters agreed with the statewide figures on votes for the legalization of marijuana, although disagreed with the results on same sex marriage and charter schools. All 3 measures are currently leading statewide.

The next ballot count is scheduled for Friday. The election results will be certified on November 27.
