The Grays Harbor County Commissioners have approved sending $97-thousand to Cosmopoilis for the third phase of the US 101 Corridor Improvement project. The funding will aid the city in this summers work to replace sidewalks and storm drains and add ADA ramps and bulbout crossings along US 101 as it moves through the city. Combined with the reopening of the city pulp mill, Commissioner Mike Wilson says the timing is just right for the city. In addition to the county money, Mayor Vickie Raines says the city is also receiving two federal grants totaling $750-thousand each and money from Weyerhaeuser totaling $45-thousand. Raines says the total project cost will come to $1.65-million.
