Fire Chief Dave Carlberg announces his retirement

The were informed last night that Fire Chief Dave Carlberg will be retiring in September.

Mayor announced the retirement and thanked him for his service for the last 34 years and 13 years as fire chief.

Carlberg said the time was right for the change and said there was new leadership ready to grow in the department.

Mayor Simpson also asked for the Council to review the resume of Battalion Chief who also received a letter of recommendation from Chief Carlberg to become the next fire chief. Hubbard said he has been preparing to be able to take over the position.

Carlberg plans to retire September 28th.
