The City of Aberdeen operates under the mayor-council form of government, where policy and administration are separated. All legislative and policy-making powers are vested in the city council. The administrative authority, including veto power, is vested in the mayor.
The Aberdeen City Council holds its regular meetings on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday evening of each month.
The “Committee of the Whole” meets at 7:15 p.m., followed by the regular session. Agendas and supportive documentation are available at City Hall on the Mondays prior to meeting.
