An empty seat on the Aberdeen City Council needs filled

The needs to fill a vacancy.

Aberdeen residents living in the Fourth Ward have an opportunity to fill the seat left vacant from the resignation of Kathi Hoder at the beginning of the month.

Hoder resigned after purchasing a home outside Aberdeen city limits, telling the council that she felt it was appropriate to step down before she moved.

Mayor Erik Larson is accepting letters of interest until December 31st from any residents within the Fourth Ward that look to fill the position. These letters should just be a short introduction to the resident, listing their address and stating why they want to serve in that seat.

The council will appoint someone to fill that position on December 11 at their first meeting in 2017. That person would need to file for election to the seat to remain into a new term.

Anyone interested is asked to mail or drop off a letter of interest to;
