Dead turtle retrieved by Westport Aquarium

A turtle reported on the South Beach was found dead.

The Aquarium posted an update on their official Facebook saying that “Daniel at ” called them on Sunday alerting them to the animal.

When they responded, they found the Olive Ridley sea turtle at State Park. Unfortunately, the turtle was dead when they arrived.

The aquarium said that they we received authorization from USFW to take the animal for outreach and education.

“As always, this is a friendly reminder to call the Stranding hotline for any marine animals, alive or dead you see on the beach. 1-866-767-6114. Thanks!”

I never want to bum anyone out, but guess what we did today? You know, when a marine animal strands dead, we always here…
