City of Aberdeen purchasing more land in downtown

The Gateway Project in Aberdeen is moving along, with new potential land purchases for the City.

Following the purchase and clearing of the land known as “Lake Chevron”, the is now looking to add additional property to their ongoing project. A purchase and sale agreement was introduced on Monday to purchase the building on South F Street formerly housing the Crystal Steam Baths for a price of $120,000 as well as the land housing the billboards at the corner of and Fuller Way for $81,850. The billboard land will come with the lease agreement for the advertisements.

In addition to this land, land purchases are planned and negotiations are underway for The Pourhouse and Selmer’s warehouse building.

All land purchases would be specifically for the Gateway Center project.
