Aberdeen takes first step towards sprint boats

The took the first steps in bringing a sprint boat park to town.

At last night’s council meeting they passed the first reading of an ordinance that would annex property the city owns near the .

The property is adjacent to the both the Bishop Athletic Complex as well the current city limits.

Councilman Denny Lawrence also proposed to have Mayor form a committee that will devise a master plan for the entirety of the Bishop Complex.

That proposal was passed unanimously. The next step will be the second reading of the ordinance and a public hearing that comes along with it.
