ABERDEEN DELAYS WATER RATE INCREASE

The Aberdeen City Council decided to temporarily postpone a planned water rate increase for large industrial customers last night, in order to allow the city public works staff to sit down with officials from Cosmopolis and better explain the reasons for the increase.

Cosmopolis buys all of its municipal water from Aberdeen. The planned increase will raise Cosi's water rates 4.7 percent. Cosmopolis Mayor Vicki Raines thanked Simpson and the Aberdeen Council for taking the additional time to allow her city to prepare.
