ENCOWEMENT GIVES BOOST TO GRAYS HARBOR YMCA

At a time of rising costs, the YMCA of Grays Harbor is a getting a badly needed financial boost. When he passed away in December, longtime Harborite Fred Foster left an over $2-million endowment for the "Y", which was announced yesterday by new CEO Kurtis Dawson. The money will go into an account at U-S Bank and the YMCA will be able to use a percentage of the interest for a number of possible programs ranging from scholarships to helping the facility cope with the rising cost of operations. Dawson says the money is truely "the gift that keeps giving" and is coming at just the right time for the facility.
