The Grays Harbor County Commissioners have voted to extend the moratorium on development of the Wildcat Creek Aquifer north and west of McCleary for six months. The county is in the process of amending the critical areas ordinance to allow limited and structured development to resume on the McCleary watershed but Deputy Community Development Director Lee Napier says the review of that amendment has yet to wrap up. The proposed extension will last until February 12, although Napier says once State Environmental Protection Agency compliance has been determined the moratorium can be lifted. |
