One candidate is assured a spot on the May mayoral ballot for Ocean Shores, while the second is still up in the air. Dean Bunkers received 59-percent of the vote in Tuesday's primary to move forward to the general election. Who he will be facing on that ballot will likely be determined in the next round of vote tallying. As of last night Fred Winge held 22-percent of the vote, while Peter Jordan had 18-percent. Over 300 ballots remain to be counted. In the city council, position A race, Garland French and Monte Nicholson are neck and neck with 35-percent of the vote each, all but assuring those to candidates a spot on the May ballot. Yesterday's tally came from 1241 ballots, for a return of 42.5-percent. |
