ABERDEEN FIRE TO LEARN FROM CHARLESTON TRAGEDY

The Aberdeen Fire Department will use the lessons learned from one of the worst firefighting tragedies in recent memory during Standdown for Safety Month. June 18th will mark the one year anniversary of the deaths of nine firefighters during a warehouse fire in Charleston, South Carolina and Aberdeen Chief Dave Carlberg says mistakes made during that disaster will be examined during a day long safety standdown. Carlberg says Aberdeen will not be the only department participating in the standdown. Departments across the country are expected to pause this month to learn from the Charleston disaster as they attempt to prevent such tragedy from coming to their communities. |
