PUD TO ADJUST RATES
By Ian Cope on Tuesday, June 17, 2008 |
|
Grays Harbor PUD customers may notice changes in their power bills this September. The PUD Board of Commissioners approved revised rate structures at the June 16, 2008 Commission meeting. The restructured rates more closely reflect the actual cost of providing power to each customer group or "rate class." The new rate structures are not rate increases. In fact, for most residential customers, the new rate structures will mean their overall cost will go down. The revised rate structures are intended to be "revenue neutral" by collecting the same amount of revenue from all customers as was previously collected. Depending on their electricity use, customers may see their bills decrease; others will notice no change and some customers may see an increase.
