HOQUIAM SENDS EMS LEVY OUT FOR SECOND TRY
The City of Hoquiam is hoping for better results the second time. The city will run it's Emergency Medical Services levy during a special election scheduled for April 27th. Public Safety Committee Chair Paul McMillan says the only difference between the new levy and one that failed by one vote last month is language identifying the measure as a replacement levy and not a new tax. The measure would raise $200-thousand per year over the next six years or the equivalent of the salaries and benefits of three firefighters.
