"GET SCHMITT FACED" SHIRTS FLY OUT OF JACKNUT
An odd intersection of a play on words and one of the more bizarre displays of football player toughness has led to a business explosion from a local business. Prior to the October 11th Seahawks game against Jacksonville, Hawks fullback Owen Schmitt slammed his helmet into his head so hard to soon had blood streaming over his face, an image captured by several photographers. After receiving suggestions from several fans, Aberdeen's Christian Burgess, owner of Jacknut Apparel began turning out T-shirts with Schmitt's bloody face and the words "Get Schmitt Faced". The reaction was almost immediate
as over 45-thousand hits have been made to the Jacknut website. With that increased interest, has also come an increase in sales. The shirts were made available three days before the Seahawks game against Arizona and since then the numbers have skyrocketed to over 1000 shirts. Burgess says Schmitt's agent is requesting money from Jacknut for the use of the players likeness. While an amount has yet to be agreed on, the Aberdeen based company is still hopeful that the interest in their product will spread to other items produced by Jacknut.
